In March 2025, I had the honour of participating in the international Symposium on Global Sustainability: Development for a Sustainable Future hosted by the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Montería, Córdoba, Colombia.
This symposium brought together researchers, students, and community leaders to discuss sustainable development from a plural and interdisciplinary perspective.
I contributed to the symposium with the presentation:
“Desarrollo sostenible: una mirada antropológica y casos de estudio”,
which explored sustainability through an anthropological lens, emphasising the importance of local knowledge and long-term community engagement.

I also had the privilege of moderating the panel: “Estrategias comunitarias para la adaptación al cambio climático y la seguridad alimentaria”, which featured powerful case studies and strategies rooted in food sovereignty and grassroots climate resilience.

It was particularly illuminating to learn how different local communities in the region are facing environmental challenges with community-based and culturally grounded initiatives
